On a diet with highly restricted calories should t3 be supplemented at replacement dose of 25mcg a day to keep metabolism up, and not tank thyroid / return it to optimal levels while still in large deficit?

Would you lose muscle mass, i hear t3 is catabolic, which im not sure if true? i hit my protein intake daily within my calorie restriction.

does replacement dose of t3 cause bloating? i saw this as a side effect somewhere of t3, but not sure if it applies to replacement dose.

How long for regular thyroid function to return after stopping t3 supplements?

Any side effects at replacement dose?




I do not intend on taking more than 25mcg a day since that is the replacement dose i think.

It binds to TRs in target tissues mainly skeletal muscles and brown adipose, then upregulates UCP-1 for mitochondrial heat and Na+/K+-ATPase for cellular energy use, this is what increases thermogenesis, ATP turnover, and ovr caloric lose

Yes its catabolic, but keeping up with ur right protein intake and training mitigates catabolism alot, also 25mcg ed is a lower dose so lower risk for muscle loss
