Because Bundy had some craft in what he was doing while Ridgeway was picking up hookers. It's a more interesting story. Bundy also comes across as such an enigma in public appearances and interviews that you have to sit there and try to picture him as the kind of guy who was doing those crimes which makes it a bit creepy. He was going back to dead victims and having some beers and having sex with them. It's just insane to see him doing that when you see him interviewed. He's just a more interesting guy.
