Why don't more people seek and more surgeons offer distraction

It works in all ages and only takes couple of months, safe, no scar, GUARANTEED results

lol@ lefortcels

lol@ mew copers, this gets you there 10x as fast and at ANY age

Because orthotropic field is not advanced in this, and adults rely more on surgery.

Imagine going with that mask outdoors, you will get rocks thrown on you

incels stay indoors for months on end anyway

whats a couple of months for a solid +2 in looks, besides it can be taken out as an outpatient procedure in minutes

I will do you one better … why do gaycels have the permission to post here?

one reason: if you already have a a top tier forward projected maxilla

just compare pics b and c , not A

If you still cant'see it you deserve to be banned from this site and deserve a reverse lefort
JFL. keep coping.

lefort is a surgery, DO is more of an office procedure pal
Distraction Osteogenesis - they literally make the lefort cuts but without immediate advancement

yeah but that's just lefort 1

no need of implants
no need for internal fixation

the high lefort is only to allow disjunction for maxilla to move, its not a full lefort adcancement with fixation

minimal complications, biggest thing- no disadvantages, no failure

Traditional lefort can only get you 5-7 mm of advancement. DO gets you upto 20mm easy

I bet you have no idea what a bimax could do to that guy compared to what he ended up with.
Bimax is litterally a chad surgery this thing is the incel version

my point is there is no morbidity with distraction osteo. Everyone can get one. literally daycare surgery or next day at the most.

MINIMAL COMPLICATIONS, ShORT SURGERY, SAFE AS FUCK , practically no chance of things going wrong. just chill at home for few weeks, come out with advanced midface

compare to bimax which can fuck you up if done wrong

greycelious go to lookism
people will understand u there

I spoke to a maxfac surgeon about Distraction as an alternative to the standard Bimax. He explained that while, in theory, it would work, many surgeons are given surface-level training on it and it is reserved for severely (like medical deformity) patients. Also, he explained that while the advancements can be HUGE (up to 1.5 cm of advancement), the issue is that it's hard to control the vectors of growth.

I would love to get Distraction Osteogenesis done, but it sounds like it just isn't going to be widely available for aesthetic enhancements any time soon. For many surgeons, it just isn't as comfortable or familiar as double jaw surgery.

Hm, valid points. I guess that's why there's a drift. As you said, most experience has been for people with deformities like clefts, and maybe surgeons are reluctant because of a lack of training.
Regarding vectors, multiplanar devices are now available. Earlier it used to be a single vector, now they are adjustable in 3D basically.

Seemed to have potential that's why I posted

They might even be scared to be the "first" to screw up a patient who's sort of normal to start with. I can just imagine the payouts of those lawsuits. It's too bad we live in such a litigious society... in some ways, it kinda holds back scientific progress.

Apparently there are symposiums and conferences for maxfac surgeons and one of the biggest debates is about slowly replacing traditional bimax with distraction osteogenesis.

Think about the potential. It's a lot less invasive, minimal recovery time, and way more advancement across all dimensions, not just forward and rotated like in the bimax.

But as you were saying, it's going to be years before more surgeons slowly warm up to the idea and start getting trained to do Distraction on somewhat normal looking patients.

I talked with my dentist about distraction osteogenesis, adult can't do it because their bones already hardened
