These past couple of days I was reminiscing about some good times back when I played Pokemon ROM hacks, I couldn't help but remember how much more excited I was for life.
I would walk around the city with my friends thinking about just how great life will be when I turn older being able to drive and own a car, get my own place buy furniture for it get myself a girlfriend, having kids, travel the world.
Overall just dreaming of a future dotted with accomplishments. Thinking life can be great and you are at the driver's seat and all this other naive nonsense.
With every year past 14 towards 18, you start to become more aware. It's almost like since birth you were standing in front of a wall, but it was covered with a curtain and then with years, this curtain little by little starts to slide to the side and you slowly start seeing the writing on the wall. And with each year you start to realize that life is all based on your resource, and the most important ones are pre-determined.
You start to realize that all males around you are in competition with you for women and resources, they all think the same as you, they want to fuck hot chicks the just as you, do nothing the just as you, and get paid big just like you.
You realize looks decide your social value and social value decides how your life will go because connections are everything in this world.
You realize there is no love or true friendship and all this other bullshit. It's all conditional and depends on circumstances.
All women are snakes and they are never loyal, if a certain situation arises, they will switch to another candidate with better resources.
You realize that to afford living you are forced to wage slave, you realize that life has no meaning or purpose.
Things like religion or philosophy are just tools of cope.
You realize your time is limited on this Earth.
You see grey hairs on your head, you start balding, your skin sags, you cant run as fast as you did.
Eventually, you realize what a disappointing reality it all actually is. And it's was completely different during your childhood and early teens.
Aging is absolutely brutal.
"And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun"
