I did hear similar things in real life, that’s why I wondered it. I think you were mixing up the “talaq” concept where you say it three times to a woman and she’s divorced from you. Getting her back after that isn’t allowed, she’s supposed to marry someone else; consummate the marriage and after they divorce, you can have her back. This may sound weird but it’s basically so you realize the importance of staying married. No sane man wants his partner to be fucked by someone else. If they do they become a dayouth which will bar you from entering heaven. I don’t know how prevalent the practice is, like I said. I only read it’s a popular practice in Jeddah. I didn’t read further into it because I thought it was disgusting.
