The cause for most rhinoplasties is recessed maxilla

I randomly came across this homepage of a rhinoplasty doctor, what Ive instantly noticed was that around 80-90% of men who had rhinoplasty with this Doc are normies and have either a recessed maxilla or recessed mandible:

Its actually insane how many people are recessed judging by the before/after examples posted on that site.

Just go through the examples, youll see that almost all of them have recessed maxilla, or very downwards grown face or recessed mandible/lower jaw.

ALMOST all the hooked noses you see there (downwards swinging hook nose) are because of recessed, downwards projecting maxilla:

What most of these ppl need is a jaw surgery, because that would fix the hook nose for the most part and that is the reason why their noses are hooked.

yup a lot of rhinos don't target the underlying issues

but if you have a bulbous nose your development wont impact it much if at all

Its very similar case with women, most of them have recessed maxilla, which results in a hook nose and nose tip pointing downwards:

You can see how their posture is bad as well, especially with last 2.

Its actually really crazy how a recessed maxilla causes a domino effect and other parts of the face descend as well in the process.

If you think about it- being aware about maxilla growth and proper tongue position, body posture etc. can save you like 10K USD just for a nose job alone, not even speaking about other procedures like jaw surgery.

Its not a coincidence that gymnasts, ballerinas etc. almost always have perfectly developed faces. Taylor Hill did gymnastics when she was a kid.

It is about being aware of facial muscles (esp. suprahyoid muscles is 2nd most important after tongue), tongue position and body posture.

It is about being aware from young age, that if you are going to do a job working on a computer all day, you will need to compensate for sitting all day in 1 cramped posture by doing all sorts of exercises.

Not true. Most rhinoplasty before pictures have normal jaws. You're cherry picking. There's even a Chad in that gallery.

No one in their right mind will let you go through with a bimax unless your bite is fucked to begin with. It's way too invasive just for aesthetic purposes.

I have recessed maxilla, but my jaw isnt recessed, I also needed rhino

It looks like reducing an overprojected nose tip will "flatten" face from profile, thus making their already long midfaces look even longer and flat from profile.

Well, you'd have to prove sleep apnea with medical tests, so that's not the way to go about it. I'm contacting Ramieri currently and I asked him if he'd be willing to do bimax on someone purely for aesthetical reasons. I'll let you know when I find out.

90 % of orthognathic surgery is due to aesthetic reasons. It provides health benefits too when planned adequately and opens the airway.

Of course I wouldn't do a mandibular setback only for an aesthetic purpose, but being recessed is an issue.

The problem isn't aesthetic motivation. The problem is this one: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamaotolaryngology/article-abstract/614362

Especially users from this and other forums, no offence.

I know people can get it for aesthetic reasons, but will the surgeon proceed if there are absolutely no medical issues present? Say my face is flat, which could mean my midface is downward grown, but my bite is fine. Then I'd need to have a lefort to fix hypoplastia and my lower jaw advanced as well to now match the new position of upper teeth. Is this doable? Pls check out my latest thread, I'm looking to figure out if Id be a candidate.

Also I can't read the full study you posted, but that just seems like 90% of the forum, legit BDD cases. I might be one of the rarer users whose final goal isn't to look like a model or whatever these boys circlejerk around here, I literally don't want to look deformed. And I'd consider underdeveloped and set-back facial structure a deformity.

Damn so that makes sense. So basically the maxilla is the problem not the persons nose. How would someone advance their maxilla the way u did it?

Wait I have a question.
Could you feel the back of your palette with the tip of your tongue and tell me
Is the middle or your HARD palette closer to the back of your mouth than the sides of your HARD palette

You can read the entire study using SciHub.
Thanks @Sergio-OMS for sharing. It's quite an old study but surely even more relevant today.

just more proof how high IQ my thread is.

Make sure to not spread this info anywhere else.

But tbh imo we shouldnt worry, because the greed of nose surgeons will handle everything by itself. Even if they knew what exactly the actual underlying issue is, they wont send their potential patients to the maxfac surgeons, because theyd earn no money.

It can be also genetic instead of recession. My father had mogger face but he had very big nose... but it is also true that Shit noses can be caused by recession.

No this is not true in all cases. Big noses can be genetic.. I dont have recessed maxilla but I still have big and hooked nose.. My father have same issues.. good facial development but still have big ass nose.
