This was modified from @loox's(acct deleted?) old deleted thread.
People talk about the chin-to-philtrum ratio all the time, but this ratio is just as important because it also takes the nose length into account. The ideal chin-to-midface ratio is anywhere from 0.55-0.65. Like most dimorphic ratios, prettyboys should try attaining the minimum while maestheticism-seekers should try attaining the max.
- A good chin-to-midface ratio(with good chin width) makes a person look considerably more dimorphic. It can offset the falio of a long midface.
- A bad chin-to-midface ratio makes a person look weak and childlike.
Having an excessively long/short midface will botch this measurement btw.
Examples of great chin-to-midface ratios:
- Tyler Maher - ratio of 0.6.
- Sean O Pry - ratio of 0.62.
Examples of bad chin-to-midface ratios:
- Adam Driver - ratio of 0.46
Here is a morph where the ratio is 0.575. He still looks much more masculine, even without the ramus height increase(which was needed for harmony).
- Chico - ratio of 0.48
Here is a morph where it's 0.55. Again, he looks noticeably more masculine.
