Having a personal space is a privilege many people don't understand the importance of, i'm 16 and still have to sleep with my parents because there isn't a bed for me, I have never felt the sensation of coming home going to my room and staying there for hours and hours where no one can see me surrounded by things I chose, a place where i can develop my hobbies without having a judgeful eye watching me, and it's not just about whining, I see real difference in behavior between my friends who are in somewhat the same situation as me, and the ones who aren't, specifically in the way they play: the frist type of specimen have an underdeveloped sense of play, they have problems keeping up conversation, have a different attachment to things, usually don't have hobbies (no where to cultivate them) and don't know how to act in many situations, because they didn't have a space to reflect on themselfs and shape their persona.
