I liked to cope by saying that despite our problems we are at least extremely lucky to be born into the west at the height of it's prosperity just before it all collapses with all the cool stuff we have like porn, video games etc. But when you think about it this is actually an epic cope...

For all we know humanity is on the verge of inventing cure for aging/immortality while making everybody into a super-chad and super-Stacy via gene editing and designer babies, and it just so happened that we were born JUST before this takes place. For all we know the first few thousand years of human history (a few thousand years is a tiny drop on the ocean of history btw) might just go down in history as the "crude beginning" of humanity. A dark and grim period of history where humans enjoyed little luxury and also had to worry about dying because of the lack of cure for aging, which was then followed by tens of thousands of years of extreme prosperity where humans don't age and live in a utopian post-scarcity society where everybody is an immortal 10/10 uber-chad living in extreme luxury while having insane orgies everybody...
