THUMBPULLING: What do you need to know about this technique?
What is: It is a technique that promises to improve your maxillary projection and expand your palate.
How do you do it? Well, the beloved Oscar Patel has several videos explaining how to do it. It basically consists, as the name suggests, of using both thumbs to push the palate. I won't go into too much detail about how to do it because I can tell you right away that this has no scientific backing. This means you can do this for months and get no results, or worse, negative results like misaligned teeth due to the thumbs pushing in.
However, if you are interested and accept the risks of using this technique, you will find many videos on YouTube talking about it.
BONESMASHING: What do you need to know about this technique?
What does it give you? Well, this technique promises to increase bone density and volume.
How it is done and with what intention?: well, they usually recommend doing it with a hammer or a hard object. With the hammer, you will have to hit the places where you want to achieve bone growth, with the intention of creating microfractures to obtain more voluminous bones after healing. It is based on Wolf's law.
I won't explain it in detail either, because while it may make some sense, the most likely outcome is that if you do this frequently, you'll end up with serious bruises or fractures. Although due to the swelling after blows, it may seem like you have more bones, I'm sorry to say that's false.
Title? Clickbait, thumpulling and bonesmashing are shit and brutal cope.
