Before the internet you would have simply went out to socialize with people, I'm older and remember those times before the internet. Me and my friends were into computers, software and video games and always went out to check the latest stuff, visit hardware stores, magazine shops, we would exchange discs with software, games, movies, music, go to arcades, gaming cafes, meet other people with similar interests, etc...

After everything moved on the internet, there was no point anymore in going out, so now we just stay inside rotting - we have access to very advanced hardware and more games and software than we could ever dream of, but it all feels so empty without human interaction.

People get caught in low effort low reward traps. Tik tok is a prime example of this, with it's short length videos. Use it for a day and you'll notice your attention span has decreased and it's harder to think in general. The internet in theory is the best idea ever, you're able to access all the information you can imagine in seconds. But in practice it induces information overload.

Going out and socializing was never really an option for me. It's not that I have no friends because I stay inside and browse the internet, it's the other way around. In my specific situation even with no internet I would still not go out and socialize because no friends. It would only make things worse.

Were you alive before the internet?

I did but this is beyond the point. The friends I had back then and I have all drifted apart.
Yeah, that's life, but if the internet was never invented, you'd probably have different friends and hobbies. We would all be part of clubs and shit
