What is marriage?
Historically marriage wasn’t just romantic. It was a legal and social covenant designed to enforce fidelity and provide generational stability for children a safe environment to grow up in with both parents present. Contrary to what most niggas here think, marriages are actual ancient. They goes back to the very beginning of civilization itself. One of the oldest social contracts that exists, found in all cultures around the world. Today it has turned into a circus.
For virtually all of human history, across almost every major culture (Mesopotamian, Roman, Feudal European, Asian, Ancient India, Tribal African), marrying for love was considered reckless, immature, and irresponsible. Marriage was a business merger between two families. Parents or village elders arranged unions based on land, social status, and work ethic. If love grew between the couple over time, that was a nice bonus not a prerequisite.
The Shift to "Romantic Love" (18th–20th Century)
All this began to change with the Industrial Revolution young people started earning independent wages in cities and women started entering the work force rather than relying on family land. For the first time people could choose their own partners based on affection rather than family duty. This gave rise to the all in one partner. Someone who is rich, good looking, kind, benevolent And all these changes along with various feminist movements and globalism resulted in the proverbial final nail to the institution of marriage

California became the first state to adopt no-fault divorce in 1969, eliminating the legal requirement to prove adultery, cruelty, or abandonment in order to dissolve a marriage. By 1985, every state in the country had followed. The legal infrastructure that had enforced marital fidelity through financial and custodial consequence for the entirety of American history was dismantled in 16 years.
Approximately 16 percent of married women and 20 percent of married men now report at least one extramarital partner according to the Institute for Family Studies in Charlottesville, Virginia

The global infidelity market now generates over $3 billion annually across platforms including Ashley Madison, Gleeden of Paris, and Victoria Milan of Oslo.
The U.S. marriage rate fell from 10.6 per 1,000 in 1970 to 6.0 per 1,000 in 2021 according to the CDC, the lowest ever recorded.
The median divorce costs over $15,000 according to Martindale-Nolo Research. The institution that once formed the foundation of every civilization on earth now has worse retention numbers than Spotify and Netflix
Why not just stay single?

Marriage isn't obsolete but also not the same the state is no longer there to protect the institution of marriage In the modern era a successful marriage requires extreme partner selection, vetting, and character assessment. Marry between 25–32, marry your looksmatch from a similar background, prioritize low body count, emotional stability, family history, practical competence, and real loyalty. Treat the decision exactly like you are choosing a lifelong business partner because that is what it is.

Who Cheats More? The Demographics of Infidelity in America

Bachelor tax - Wikipedia
- Married men live 7 to 17 years longer.
- Unmarried men have a 38% higher risk of dying from heart disease and 2x higher risk of suicide/accidents.
- Married men earn a 10% to 40% wage premium over single peers due to behavioral stabilization and household specialization.
This leaves men trapped between two options:
- Marry — Accept a legally volatile contract with high financial downside.
- Stay Single — Avoid legal risk, but face higher rates of early mortality, loneliness, mental illness and lower lifetime earnings
- The Age Sweet Spot: IFS Data shows marrying between ages 25 and 32 results in the lowest divorce rates ideally low body counts for both the genders. Yes both
- Emotional Stability: Gottman Research demonstrates that screening for low contempt and high emotional regulation predicts long-term marital survival with over 90% accuracy.
- Couples who are “matched” in physical attractiveness (both rated similarly on objective scales) and the same ethnicity/background have significantly lower divorce rates.
- Severe physical asymmetry in both genders often correlates with high relationship insecurity, mate guarding behavior and unequal power dynamics which causes cracks in the marriage over time
What to actually look for in a woman (the non-negotiables)
If you are going to risk it, start screening like you are hiring a lifelong business partner who will also raise your children. Here’s the practical list- Low body count + clean sexual history- High partner count is one of the strongest predictors of future divorce and lower marital satisfaction.
- Emotional regulation and low contempt- Watch how she handles stress, disagreement, and boredom. Does she escalate every conflict into personal attacks? Does she roll her eyes, stonewall, or go nuclear? Gottman research is clear. Contempt is the single biggest predictor of divorce. If she cannot regulate her emotions as a girlfriend, marriage will not fix it.
- Relationship with her own family- How she treats her parents and siblings is a preview of how she will treat you when the honeymoon phase dies. Chronic chaos, cut-off parents with no good reason, or constant drama with family is a red flag. Stable women come from stable homes.
- Practical competence and work ethic-Can she cook basic meals, manage money, keep a space clean, and handle real responsibilities without collapsing?
- Shared core values and long-term orientation- Kids, religion (or lack of it) money, lifestyle, and views on fidelity need to line up. You do not need identical opinions on everything, but fundamental worldview mismatches will surface later as resentment.
- Low social media addiction and external validation seeking- A woman whose self-worth is heavily tied to likes, male attention, and public image is a statistically higher risk for eventual dissatisfaction and wandering.
- Capacity for loyalty and delayed gratification- Does she show up consistently when things are boring or hard, or does she only exist when the dopamine is high? Loyalty is proven in the low moments
