Imagine living in some small Italian city just building a family in a big house with an orchard, and every night the house is full with laughter and music and dancing from your all your kids and their partners and kids.
All the windows are open and its still warm and cozy because it’s the Italian countryside.

You have your friends over every night and everyone is happy and cheerful
THAT’S LIFE

I have experienced this life ONCE before:

Last summer I traveled to Italy with my oneitis and our friendgroup for a week.

We spent the entirety of every day at the beach.
We all sang songs and played volleyball and cards.
We played the guitar.
We laughed and joked and drank and snacked on food from the coolers.
We swam and wrestled on the grass.

When it got dark we would all head back to the airbnb.

It was this beautiful stone manor with these beautiful wooden floors and these big wooden doors that went to the ceilings
It had a pool, and a vineyard, and rolling hills.

We would all be physically exhausted by the time we got back, but we would make these big dinners and play music and dance and laugh and tell stories.
And when we finally sat down to eat, I just felt so happy.
So thankful to be alive.

Like “this is where I’m meant to be.”
“This is what I’m meant to do”
“This is what I’m made for”

The pure joy I felt is truly indescribable.
More than any drug I’ve ever done, any party I’ve ever been to.
It was heaven on earth for a short while.

On the last day of our trip, instead of dinner at the airbnb, we all went to a local restaurant.

I was sitting across from my oneitis,
her face beet-red from the weeklong sunburn she had gotten from not wearing sunscreen…

I remember just looking at her in that moment.
Her ocean blue eyes,
Her mouth full of pasta.
And she looked back at me.
And we just held eye contact for a good 10 seconds.
And I just knew that this life was worth living.

Just seeing something so beautiful before my eyes.

Like beauty you think only exists in the movies, or in your dreams, and I was seeing it in real life.

That’s how she became my oneitis. It was in that moment that I fell in love.
Long story short I fumbled her, but, for a while, I was truly in love.

Maybe I was associating her with that great period in my life, maybe it’s just because she’s extremely beautiful.

Who knows really.

If you’re so retarded that you can’t enjoy good cinema just because there’s fags in it, I don’t know what to tell you.

It’s a beautifully shot film.
I pretty much only watch it for the cinematography.

Yes.
Sun all year round.
Hawaii is similar.

I would move to hawaii, or the golden coast (australia)

Well the family is entirely normal he’s just a fag.
and he’s not even a fag he’s bisexual.

The first half of the movie is him with his girlfriend fucking everywhere.
In alleyways, in fields, in his room.

He basically just eats, sleeps, dances, and fucks. Literally the greek gods lifestyle.
Pure dopamine and cortisol 24/7

Nigger thats cause you’re probably chopped.
Obviously true happiness isn’t obtainable for subhumans, but throw a mtn into this life and he would think he’s in heaven.

6 months in this lifestyle if you were mtn and you would change your view.

Well it was also just a week.
I live in europe on the coast and go to the beach every single day during summer.

By the end of the summer everyone is bored with the beach and just wants to stay home and watch movies.

Although I think it was also the fact that for a short period we were really living like humans should.

Conversing deeply and philosophically every night, discussing literature,
Singing songs
(literally scientifically proven to be a deeper form of connection than spoken language)
Etc.

One of the peaks of med lifestyle was renaissance era tyrant Petrucci. He would go to monte amiata (a volcano in italy) and roll large blocks of stone down, to assert power and terrorize those around him. Imagine being this careless

JFL at treating life like a video game.
Literally just doing a whole bunch of bullshit cause why not.

Bro it’s not even like there are any major predators in italy.
Even their ancestors were just probably relaxing all day in the sun and eating grapes.

Mirin the genetic-predisposition to happiness

Btw you know a lot about the mediterranean and just relaxing in general.

Would you inform of me some books/resources to learn more?

Bro, I was basically agreeing with you. I believe in this kind of view on life; there is relaxation even at the height of danger.
This passage is from "The civilization of the renaissance in italy" by jacob burckhardt. It covers the most important era of the region (aside from roman era, of course). It's a great start

A high quality experience for sure
It would be a good place to live for a while. Very social and events have purpose

That being said, I wouldn’t live there for my entire life.
Wouldn’t you like the full range of experiences life has to offer?
To live in a polar environment, far from civilisation, with few people around. Or in the countryside, next to a farm..
Anything abnormal in general

Yeah I was agreeing with you.
I was referring to petrucci treating life like a video game and just doing whatever he wanted.
Goatis mentality literally.

Yes this is exactly my dream, but then to eventually settle down on the mediterranean.

Explore the african safari, amazon rainforest, asia, india.
Just see what life has to offer and then finally settle down.

This is why I need to become rich.

Make sure to check out "The condottieri" by charles river editors, aside from the book i recommended in the previous post.
I would say focus your readings on the Renaissance era mercenaries to get the full gist of how this life style works, and then of course watch any movies you can from Fellini and Antonioni to see it in the modern lense too

This is just like Fortnite, as an example.

Everyone loves to talk about how Fortnite was the best game of all time, and then when Fortnite releases its OG seasons again, everyone suddenly starts saying how bad the game actually was.

People are blinded by nostalgia.

So the way you view a country is purely based on memories.

you can speak to @Orka who lives in Italy

he will tell everyday is not like outer banks the way you desribe it

Yeah good thread.
A lot of europe is like this tbh.
The boys try to mimic the uk, but are obviously too poor to be real roadmen.

The girls all get their clothes from the same 2-3 different shops in town (pull & bear, berska, etc)

Not to mention they all look the same cause europe is small.

And in my country all restaurants close from 3-7

4 fucking hour PAID “lunch break” yeah wtf thats gotta be fraud or some shit.

I agree every country has its faults, but still, imo Italy is beautiful.

At the very least if you have money.

Although you can have an ideal simple life in the Mediterranean without much.

Small simple place, swim everyday, tan, eat good fresh food ect.

You just won’t have the luxury villa and Stacy
