Injectable ketamine.
A study on treatment resistant depression found that low dose at 0.5mg/kg, IV/IM Ketamine over 2 weeks provides rapid brain plasticity, this means it strengthens connections between neurons, helps restore normal function in the prefrontal cortex (which is important for thinking, focus, and decision making), and activates glutamate related pathways (NMDAR/AMPAR) that support the growth of new synaptic connections and brain networks.
In a chronically stressed brain which results in connections getting damaged over time , ketamine is able to reverse that damage by rapidly rebuilding synapses through increasing glutamate activity, which signals the brain to lead to higher levels of BDNF ( a protein that supports growth and repair of neurons) and also activates the mTOR pathway which helps build new synaptic connections.
This process suggests that ketamine may temporarily increase the brains ability to form new connections and weaken rigid ones.
For our own use we can leverage this in terms of changing habits during the window where old automatic patterns are less fixed and new behaviours can be learned more easily. You can intentionally be practicing the habits , routines, though patterns you can change your whole “old” personality to however you wish to be and likely this will stick with you forever as new neural pathways are reinforced through repetition.
However its important to understand that this process still depends heavily on what you actually do during that period. If unhealthy behaviours or thinking patterns are reinforced those will also become stronger. So the outcome depends on intention, repetition, and the direction you guide your behaviour in during that time.
In studies its usually taken 0.5mg per kg 3x a week via IV/IM injection over 6 weeks straight then stop.
Or you could microdose it long term by doing your bodyweight dose every 4-5 weeks followed by 4-7 days important learning window to get the most out of the synaptic intraneural and build new connections.
