Knowing this fact makes me understand why Hitler thought he had some chances of survival even when Berlin was surrounded
It is just tremendous, 20km away from the capitol. Stalin was on the east of Russia if i'm not mistaken, on the other hand Germany was attacked from the West by the allies and from the East by the Soviets
The biggest mistake of the war judging by my criteria was Japan attacking USA, some say the americans were provoking Japan and viceversa, they say that oil had a lot to do with it too. Oil is no joke, it has affected probably more lives than drugs for example.
Germany helping Italy on everything is looked too as an error and of course probably the most famous one, "Germany wasn't prepared for the Russian winter"
