All Balkan countries have gypsies but now that the EU borders are open they moved west. I read an article a while ago about how approx. 30% of Bulgarian gypsies moved west to work there. Bulgaria used to be overrun and unkempt but it's improved a shit ton. A lot of the buildings got renovated or are in the process of getting renovated. The infrastructure has gotten quite decent overall (better than Greece and Romania for example)
