The 1–10 Loox Scale | ||||||||||||||||||||

The Problem
The “default” numbers of looks tiers are at the bottom of their respective ranges. For example, the Chadlite value is 7/10, but the Chadlite range is 7 to 7.9̅. Tiers’ default numbers don’t reflect their centers. The middle of the Chadlite range is 7.5, but 7/10 is stated as the Chadlite proper. A man rated 7.75 is a Chadlite, and a man rated 6.75 is a high-tier normie, even though 7.75 is way further from the 7.0 Chadlite mark than 6.75 is.
You could say this isn’t an issue because it’s just rounding down to the nearest integer. But there is a big issue. The middle of the mid-tier normie range is 5.5, but 5 is designated as the population mean of the 1–10 scale. Therefore, the scale’s aesthetic center doesn’t line up with its statistical center.
5/10 = statistical looks average
5.5/10 = center of the attractiveness spectrum, neutral
5.5/10 = center of the attractiveness spectrum, neutral
The SolutionThe 1–10 system has been in use since the beginnings of humans rating things, and the tiers of 1–10 looks have been defined the way they currently are since the beginnings of the incelosphere. As people are so used to the current tiers, adjusting the categorizations by shifting each of their ranges downward half a point wouldn’t catch on. It’d be too much work for people. I think a good solution is to just move our idea of the average looks level from a 5 to a 5.5.
Move the mark of average upward 0.5
Current: the average man is 5/10
New: the average man is 5.5/10
Thoughts?Current: the average man is 5/10
New: the average man is 5.5/10
