I mean okay for tedious shit like mopping floors etc the profit motive is required since nobody is going to do that shit for free. But it's utter bullshit otherwise. In just about any creative field nobody is motivated by profit except for the greedy CEOs and other higher-ups. Things that COULD have been something special are instead transformed into dumbed-down mass consumer products for the low-IQ sheep.
Consider software. Most of the innovation is taking place in open source communities. At the same time free apps like Blender become even more advanced the big companies like Autodesk and adobe have stagnated.
I'm currently taking a jab at writing. I'm planning on releasing all my stuff for free because I won't want to be forced to pander to whatever bullshit the publishers want.
Yes there are SOME situations where people need to get paid but imo 90% of the time the profit motive doesn't result in better outcomes. It's the bluepill of economics.
It's also worth noting that the reason most normies don't have any passion for doing anything is that they ONLY get an education so they can get a high-paying job (which they then do poorly). Meanwhile the people that actually care about their work don't care as much if they're not paid super high wages for them.
