what you need is to focus on the data structures and algorithms you can learn a language in a couple days but that would never get you a job without data structures and algorithms

plenty of people get jobs without much knowledge of data structures and algorithms, especially front-end developers

That sounds pretty interesting, how do we get started on learning that?

What steps/phases of learning would you recommend for people starting from scratch?

Eg. Start w/ a generic computer science textbook/course, Learn python

Phase 1 - Learn computer science basics

Phase 2 - Learn to code a basic language

Phase 3 - Once have hang of basic language, make a project

Phase 4 - Learn Data structures and algorithms - ???
- Read some books on it (Any good ones that make it fun and simple as possible?)
- Do a course ( like this one? Any others to recommend?)

Just trying to break the recommendation into clear, practical next actions.

So it's important to figure out what stage of the learning journey to start learning this stuff. I'm a complete beginner at phase 1 as I imagine many others are. So to learn from your post there's an "advantage" that will speed up the learning, is a very welcome idea.

learn python or java
learn data structures and algorithms while doing codebats
go to leetcode
