people just copy the hyperlink of any thread title that looks appealing and returns back to the front page to repeat the process (i know this is a terrible explanation but i'll provide an example (cuz im high effort like that !!!) .

as showcased in the video above you can observe as the clueless goldfish attentionspanless guppy makes multiple tabs with the thread titles they found interesting and or appealing (in this context specifically i just clicked in random order for demonstration purposes)
