Lean maxxing is the most important and first step to looksmaxxing. If you can only do one thing and nothing else (for your looks), you should lean max. And if you do everything else except this ... You will fail to looksmax. That's how important this is.
Success in lean maxxing boils down to 2 things, and both require a controlled and somewhat expensive diet (not the most expensive, but not exactly cheap either).
The most important rule is CALORIE DENSITY
Never eat foods that are caloricly dense. But it's important to know how to measure caloric density. The formula is actually simple
Calories ÷ mass
The unit you should use is grams. And here's the deal:
Foods under 1 calorie per gram: excellent. This includes vegetables, fruit, lean meats, etc.
Foods between 1 to 1.5 calories per gram: very good. This includes fattier meats, fish.
Foods between 1.5 to 2 calories per gram: ok. Good for maintencr. This includes very fatty meats (like bacon, pork, salmon).
Foods 2 -3 calories per gram: You will gain weight, but slowly. Bread, eggs, whole milk fall here.
3+ is detrimental and is mostly junk food, or foods with very high fat.
Keep in mind oil itself is 9 calories per gram (extremely calorie dense) and many sauces have added sugars/oils that Jack up the calories per gram. Stick to sauces that abide by my formula (Like mustard, soy sauce, and hot sauce). You will lose weight.
The second most important thing for lean maxxing is flavor maxxing. As important as it is to remove all calorie bombs, its important to leave foods that are okay to eat. That includes spices, low calorie sauces, meats like shrimp, ham, egg whites, etc. Processes foods are usually caloricly dense, but not always, if they're not, they're good to eat.
Drink zero calorie sodas, drink mixes. If you want dessert eat fat free cheese, eat fat free sugar free flavored Greek yogurt.
You can get to single digit body fat % following these rules. But the hard part is it's more expensive than eating whatever comes your way. So money max first. Flavor maxxing isn't technically necessary to be lean, but it it's important for long term adherence.
Carbs you want to eat potatoes and rice. Bread is okay, but only for maintenance. How much u eat depends on activity level. But I would aim for 1.5x your lean body mass.
Fats try to keep under 50 grams daily. But eat at least 20 daily. This is the macro that needs the tightest level of control.
Protein eat 1 gram per lb of lean body mass. Most expensive macro nutrient. Everyone already knows this rule.
