As a someone that used to surf for years, while you are young your skin will be able to tank the sun damage, specially if you have decent melanin and arent pale type, but after 30's your skin will be annihilated by the sun exposure and the damage will start to show. All of my friends that still surf aged very badly because of sun damage, and no, sunscreen isnt enough because you will be in the water to much time and the protection will be washed out from your skin

the sun isnt good for your skin. however, the salt water, drying of the skin, sweating but not knowing it, building of an athletic physique, and the sea salt making your hair look better, is easily one of the best natural looksmaxxes in nature.
