The ULTIMATE CANTHAL AREAMAXXING GUIDE - How to spot your flaws and fix them

Eye area

Hello everyone! Welcome to my first educational post here with hopefully many more to come.

In this post I will be discussing the Canthal Region. More specifically the Medial and Lateral Canthus. (There is too much to cover on the eye area in one post, so I’ll be breaking it up into several.)

I will also be discussing the beauty standard for an ideal Canthal Region, and several ways to ascend yours! - So read until the end…

My goal by creating this is to help you guys reading, take away some sort of knowledge to aid with your ascension. Even if it’s a very small amount, it’s one step closer to ascending!

So let’s get started by breaking down the eye area as a whole.

1. The Importance of the Eye Area and Its Fundamentals

The eye area is arguably the most influential region of the face when it comes to perceiving someone's attractiveness.
It’s often the first place people look, due to eye contact with social interaction which is just another reason why it is so important, but it also changes how masculine, feminine, intimidating, etc… someone is perceived

The truth is that the eye area is a system. You can’t just dye your eyebrows and believe you truly ascended that area. You should aim to piece together the entire eye area as a system to truly mog.

There is a reason why all the top percentile of men have a similar eye area and it is no secret. As seen in the images below…

Salludon

But what are the things that are so similar and so important with these guys' eye area?

Now as I mentioned I will be narrowing down on the Canthal Region in this post. Probably the most influential part of the eye area, allow me to explain what is so similar amongst the top percentile of men within this region.

1.1 Canthal Region

So, the Canthal Region is the area where the upper and lower eyelids meet at the inner and outer corners of the eye.

You have the Medial Canthus and the Lateral Canthus.

With these two, they both create your Canthal Tilt, Eye Orientation, and
Eye Sharpness

1786141101204

As seen in the image above, the Canthal Tilt refers to the angle created after you draw a line between the Medial (Inner) and Lateral (Outer) Canthus.

Ideally you want a Positive Canthal Tilt. This is the industry standard, where the outer corner is higher than the inner corner.

With that, you get your Neutral Canthal Tilt, where your outer corner and inner corner are around the same level with each other.

And your Negative Canthal Tilt, where the inner corner is higher than the outer corner

1.2 How Do We Improve Our Canthal Region?

Eyebrow Optimization
- Brows can influence the perceived angle of the eyes.
  • Aim to keep the lateral brow slightly elevated
  • Avoid extreme downward brow tails
  • Maintain/Groom your eyebrows

Another way to improve your canthal region is through PDO Threads

In simple terms, PDO Threads are a self face filler.

They use COG Threads which are used to lift sagging tissue. This is why they are a popular choice for changing your Canthal Tilt.

The downside is that they dissolve within 6 months. BUT, the effects can stay for longer. Up to 1-3 years.

You can find these on Ebay, as for where Clavicular said sourced his.

Lash Styling - Outer Corner can visually lift the eye

*This mainly applies for people with longer lashes*

1786141341937

With longer and more fuller lashes, they will tend to be more bulky near the Lateral Canthus.

By taking a delicate pair of scissors you can cut the very end of your lashes (not off lol). This makes a more positive visual effect on your Canthal Tilt as the lashes aren’t blocking as much of your Lateral Canthus.

Possible cope fix:

Eye/Thumb pulling
is a popular temporary fix people have tried. Many say it works, many say it doesn’t. I personally haven’t dedicated my time to see if this works or not, but I will explain it anyway.

The Eye pulling or Thumb pulling technique is where you place your thumbs or a finger/s just beside your Lateral Canthus and pull diagonally upward and hold the tension as best as you can, as far as you can while blinking rapidly and tensing.
If anything this technique will eventually fade away if inconsistent.

Surgical Fixes for your Canthal Region are:

  • Canthoplasty
  • Canthopexy
  • Lower eyelid procedures
  • Face Lift (Fox Eye Surgery)

^These will alter the position or support of the Lateral Canthus^

Volufiline

Volufiline
is known as “Filler in a bottle.” It is mainly used for the under eye area as lower eyelid support.

There are lots of mixed feelings about this product, but I personally love it and use it everyday before going to it. So I thought I would mention it.

I apply it just above my upper eyelid and have noticed my UEE has changed significantly since starting, but I am unsure if Volufiline is the root cause.

More importantly, I mainly use it on my Lower Eye Fold which definitely helps with eye bags personally, I also like the glow and brightness it gives when applied. In theory, using Volufiline on your Lower Eye Fold will add fat and provide more support on your under eye area, which will create the visual effect of a better looking Canthal Tilt.

How does Volufiline Work? And are there other products to use like this?

Volufiline is said to encourage your fat cells to store more lipids which overtime with consistent use will increase tissue volume.

Volufiline is said to work the best on; Lips, under eye, and smile lines/wrinkles.

Studies are very limited, with the only one I found was done on breast tissue, which is different from facial tissue.

However, another similar product that is preached to do the same is called Adifyline. This product is said to have even less research on it than Volufiline. The only study I read showed that over the span of 14 days, females aged 50-60 saw a 12% facial volume increase.

I have seen people say it is “better” than Volufiline because Volufiline is temporary and Adifyline is permanent… I couldn’t find anything stating this and honestly I don’t see this being true anyways.

The only way these products will NOT work is if you are just recessed. At that point there is a very small chance these products will be able to make up for the recessed space.:pepoSad:

Others ways to help with Canthal Support depends on:
  • Lateral canthal tendon strength
  • Infraorbital bone support
  • Skincare (retinoids, sunscreen, and hydration)

Lastly, this product isn’t directly involved with the Canthal Region, but I felt like adding it lol…

OXYMETAZOLINE is popular because it can give the desired hooded eye shape.
By applying 1 drop in your eye, Oxymetazoline will cause the Muller’s Muscle to flex which will create a hooded eye shape. This effect is temporary for several hours but is great to add to a going out stack.

Oxymetazoline is also used in some eye drops for its ability to reduce eye redness

It does have rebound effects such as increased redness and enlarged blood vessels.

Side effects can be irritation, dryness, stinging, and blurred vision

1.3 Medial Canthus

The Medial Canthus is the inner corner of your eye where your eyelids meet near your nose. It influences eye spacing and eye sharpness.

1786141942743

This image shows different ways your Epicanthal Fold can look like.

It is the skin that covers your Medial Canthus

Excessive coverage can take away the eye sharpness and spacing I mentioned earlier. Ideally a mild fold is normal.

Although there is surgery, the fix people have resorted to is Canthus Cutting
By taking a knife and carefully slicing the Medial Canthus you will create a longer PFL (Palpebral Fissure Length) and enhance how sharp your eye looks.

1.4 Lateral Canthus

The Lateral Canthus as previously mentioned is the outer corner of your eyelids, near your temple.

It influences eye sharpness, canthal tilt, and shape.
A weak Lateral Canthus can create a drooping outer eye, rounded eye shape, and tired look.
I have already mentioned ways to fix the Lateral Canthus during section 1.2 due to how strong of an influence it has on your Canthal region.

1.5 Conclusion

In conclusion, the Canthal Region isn’t a very difficult concept and has several non-surgical ways to ascend it.

I hope you were able to take away some helpful information and feel free to comment on a guide you would like to see next!
PSA- I just launched my own gear source. Text @tdc_potter on telegram if you want to check out a good priced + reliable source + help support me!
