We’ve all experienced it: you’re walking through the city, and suddenly someone passes by, leaving behind a scent so captivating, so clean, you just think,
“Damn… he/she smells fucking incredible.”
Trough fragrances we can create an aura, leave an impression, and signal things like confidence, status, and also gain attention.
Especially women are very sensitive to scents when forming first impressions.
Pleasant smells improve mood and also make people appear healthier (smelling good = health indicator) more creative, and more likable.
Even if a scent isn’t consciously noticed, it gives you a small but noticeable halo.

Smells have the unique ability to trigger stronger, more emotional memories than sights or sounds. That means your signature scent can stick with people, making you unforgettable.
Maybe you even know it, you randomly smell something, that reminds you of your grandparents, your first love or a friend.

HOW FRAGRANCE WORKS
Fragrances are basically a mix of scent molecules, called notes, that reveal themselves in layers on your skin.
Knowing how these layers work helps you pick a scent you’ll love and explains why it can smell totally different on you than it does in the bottle.
TOP NOTES: the first impression of a fragrance, the light scent you smell after applying it
MIDDLE NOTES/HEART NOTES: These are the notes we smell when the top notes fade, the true smell and character of the fragrance gets revealed here
BASE NOTES: These are the final long-lasting notes that you can smell for hours
When you apply fragrance, the alcohol carrier evaporates first, dispersing the top notes.
As your body heat warms the skin, middle and then base notes fade over time.
Your skin chemistry, things like pH level, natural oils, body temperature, and your diet can change how a fragrance develops and how long it lasts.
That’s why the same perfume can smell different on someone else
✧•────────────•✦•────────────•✧
There are also different concentrations
Eau de Cologne: Low concentration (about 2–5% perfume oil) very light, only lasts around 2-4 hours.
Eau de Toilette: Moderate concentration (5–15%) noticeable top and middle notes, usually lasts 4-6 hours.
Eau de Parfum: Higher concentration (15–20%) stronger sillage and longer-lasting base notes, usually lasts 6-8 hours.
Parfum/Extrait: Highest concentration (20–30% or more) very rich, intense, and long-lasting, can last 8–12+ hours.
(How long a fragrance lasts can variate from person to person)

DO'S AND DONTS
DOS
Test them on your skin and also leave them on your skin for a few hours before buying - because like I said; the smell changes over time
Do apply to pulse points - like wrists, neck, or behind the ears where heat helps the scent project.
Do moisturize before applying – scent lasts longer on hydrated skin (I always use Vaseline)
Shower before applying - makes it a little bit stronger and longer lasting
Do match your scent to the season and place - When it's warm, you want to wear something fresh, when it's cold you want to wear something warm and cozy.
Will dive into this later again with recommendations
Store your fragrance in a cool, dark place – avoid heat and sunlight to make it last. (never store them in your bathroom for example)
Do reapply lightly if needed – especially when you know the scent doesn't last long or when it's hot outside.
I often carry some of these with me
DON'TS
Don’t overapply – can be very annoying for people, no matter how good it smells.
Don’t rub your wrists together – it breaks down the molecules and ruins the top notes.
Blind-buying - What works for others and what others like, might not work for you, and maybe you don't even like the scent.
Don’t Wear Heavy Scents in Confined Spaces - Loud, intense fragrances in small rooms (office cubicles, cars) can overwhelm others.
(Layering - only if you really know hat you are doing
when we layer fragrances, we basically create a new scent and i dont think you and i are better at this than professionals)

Not to forget
You want to find a fragrance that fits to your Archetype and style
Someone who fits in the "pretty boy" Archetype could easily wear sweeter and more "feminine" scents like Erba Gold,
While it would almost be weird if someone looking like this would wear it, not because he looks bad, but because it just doesn't fit his looks.
Archetype Table

WHAT TO AVOID
Basically anything that absuletely contradicts the vibe of the location and your style
(Chad can wear anything everywhere)
Avoid synthetic fragrances
Synthetic fragrances can sometimes smell “artificial” or “chemical”
These scents usually lack the depth and complexity of fragrances that smell more natural.
That said, even so called natural fragrances usually include synthetic ingredients.
The key difference is in how these synthetics are used: natural-smelling fragrances blend synthetic molecules crafted to mimic natural scents with real plant extracts. This combination creates a fragrance that feels more authentic and well-rounded, without relying solely on natural ingredients.
In the end, you have to find something, that fits you and that you like!

Robust Prettyboy | Creamy woods, soft spices, floral-amber blends | Still sweet/pretty, but grounded with more depth pretty universal Archetype (can wear pretty much everything)
Masculine/Handsome | Woody-aromatic, refined ambers, classic fougères | Balanced, elegant, universally appealing (would still leave out scents that are too sweet)
Badboy | Smoky, spicy, leathery, incense-heavy, dark sweet | Sexy, rebellious, addictive |

CONCLUSION
As a conclusion, we can say that fragrance is an important, but often slept-on, quick softmax.
Of course, it won’t randomly make you a Chad, but as long as you're not an absolute subhuman, it can give you a small but noticeable halo.
(I’d also still rather be a good-smelling subhuman than a bad-smelling one.)
Smelling good is important for women when forming first impressions. It can also make you feel more confident, happier, and makes you appear healthier.
I think everyone should own at least 2–3 good fragrances.
I hope I didn’t miss anything, if I did, just tell me
And if you have any questions, just ask me.
