Theoretical Malware Possibility

MODS/Master this is theoretical, I was thinking today about something, and I came up with this. Essentially, an attacker gets someone to hate them so much, then they post an "image" that is of a landscape or something "identifiable" but store secret malware inside of it (idek if thhis is possible I don't know much of malware but) so when the person hating tries to download to maybe search for metadata, they instead are met with malware. (Remember mods, idek if this is possible, but this is to protect yourself, don't even download images)
