In my last year of Uni in 2013 Tinder came out and even then barely anyone was on it and it didn't really become mainstream till 2016 and even then you had a lot of tye users in both men and women (Millennials) that had already experienced a lot of real life socialising and dating before the app. So it wasn't impossible to get success.

The problem I think started when Zoomer girls downloaded the app at around 15-16 from 2017/2018 onwards, larping as 18-19 year olds, with no previous experience of men and limited social interaction. Then Bumble comes out around that time too and instagram is really becoming an obsession for a lot of the eldest members of Gen Z.

Zoomer girls knew from their early experiences with Instagram, Tinder and Bumble that they have an array of far better looking guys interested in them and so they were less fourthcoming irl and a lot more stand-off ish. These same Zoomer girls grew up with the #MeToo movement in 2013-2014, so started calling any Zoomer guys that were even average looking, creeps for approaching them lol.

I get all that. I also get the constant in-your-face culture of instagram and now tiktok and this exposure can rattle with your brains and give you a distorted sense of reality. IMO you should take some ownership of that and detox from these platforms, but I also realise you guys talk about trending viral social media topics irl and so if you don't have social media, you might miss these and then be left out of conversations. (Heard this in documentary)

So yeah I am very aware of all the barriers and forming a good personality does hinge a lot on the feedback you're given by your peers. How you are treated. It's not just about how you see yourself, but how others see you too. I get all that. I've been compassionate to the barriers for a while. My issue is I only really use Twitter/X and Reddit and now it's overwhelmed by Zoomers and they speak on stuff a lot based on second hand experience, all while being extremely confident. They do make themselves out to be perfect and they are very closed minded imo and to be honest, a lot of them are just plain followers. This site is just a classic example.
