I Complied a Chuando routine, (it's very similar to my own) here you go: Keep in mind, GENETICS. However, that nice saying can apply to many of you (us), "genetics loads the gun but the environment pulls the trigger".
WORKOUT ROUTINE:
A good week would see him at the gym five times, for a maximum of an hour and a half each, but he often manages with just three sessions a week. He doesn't run because of a knee injury but does speed walking on the treadmill, and he swims.
He tries to spend no more than 30 minutes on his Strength training. Cardio training is of course followed and he prefers Swimming in the evenings for about an hour!
What is your workout routine like?
I try to go to the gym on weekdays so I can rest over the weekend. I do cardio three times a week, and weights. The exercises depend on my body condition on that day. If I’m tired or unwell, I don’t do high reps ’cos I’m just going to strain myself.
I tell my friends: Just get the exercising over and done with in the morning. Run on the treadmill on an empty stomach, and you will burn twice the calories. But you aren’t starving yourself ’cos after that you can go have your breakfast. You are your own pillar. You have to support yourself.
DIET & NUTRITION: You are what you eat! Tan sticks to the principle and believes that the health condition of a person depends 70% on the food he eats and 30% on exercises!
Daily Diet Schedule
*What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? CHUANDO TAN: Drink water. It cleanses your body. I always have a water bottle beside my bed, and throughout the night I just drink from it. I don't care how many times I have to wake up to go to the bathroom.
Morning: He eats 6 boiled eggs for breakfast with only 2 yolks (due to cholesterol). Additionally, he drinks a glass of milk and includes avocado & berries to his breakfast.
Noon (ish): After going to the gym, I’d have my protein shakes and six to eight eggs with two slices of bread.
Afternoon: I’d do my work for about two hours, then hit the gym again, after which I’d have chicken breast and some carbs in the form of a small serving of brown rice or veggies (Hainanese chicken-rice style?). This is also when I might have something sweet like durians.
Evening: At night I’ll eat chicken breast meat or fish soup without any carbs. I don’t really diet, but I watch what I eat.
Tip - You just need to choose a light broth," he shares. "I always order fish, beancurd and veggies. Just try not to drink the soup ’cos it’s full of MSG."
Tip - “When I was still modelling and dined out with my friends, I used to dip my food in a bowl of hot water to rinse off the sauce before I consume it. I still do that now, sometimes.
NOTES:
SKIN & HAIR ROUTINE: I have sensitive skin that’s why there are only 2 things I use daily: gel face wash and moisturizing cream.
Questioned: Have you had any procedures done? He says he tried Botox once around his eyes but didn't like the result and hasn't done it again.
Questioned: (his teeth are very white and his full head of hair is black). Do you dye it? Yes, he replies without hesitation, and also his moustache and goatee because he does have greying strands. "I think salt and pepper is quite cool but it's not there yet," he says. "It's just a little bit here and there - not nice."
SLEEP: He never stays up late and sleeps before 11 PM. Tan wakes up early in the morning to start his day. He prefers sleeping a good 7-8 hours and he usually stops eating 5-6 hours before going to sleep.
BATHING: Legend has it that you don't bathe early in the morning or late at night.
I think I said that in an interview 20 years ago (laughs). When I was a singer, I had very bad sinus problems, and I was seeing a specialist for it. The sinseh told me I couldn’t shower early in the morning or late at night ’cos I’d catch a cold. So that’s the full story.
QUALITY FACTOR: Tan, a bachelor, says his life revolves around his work, gym and friends. (Not married & no children). Does NOT drink, smoke or go to clubs.
Are you currently single, attached or it’s complicated?
Single and not dating. To be honest, dating is not on my mind at this age. Is that strange? I’m focussing on my career. As for whether I’ll meet the right person, I’ll let that happen naturally. I don’t use any dating apps.
My ideal partner can be any age or race or look older than me. As long as I can communicate and have fun with them, why not? I think that’s most important.

NOTES:
- My cheat days don’t come very often. I cheat with ice-cream and durians. So I try to eat them during the day. Most people eat durians at night, but that’s very bad. Durians contain sugar that turns to fat if you go to sleep right after eating it.
- Indulge in ice-cream only once a month. “I have ice-cream about once a month,” says Chuando. “A pint of Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice-cream that I split into three servings. Sometimes when I have no food at home, I finish the whole pint. Impromptu cheat day! I also love tempura. Fried stuff is so good, but it’s so bad. But the temptation is there. We are just human (laughs). .I eat McDonald’s takeout on photoshoots too, when we don’t have that many food options. It won’t kill me to eat fast food once in a while.
- I grab my lunch from food courts. Whatever stall that has fish soup, chicken breast…Doesn't matter if it tastes good as long as the food is fresh. But I do marinate chicken in olive oil and balsamic vinegar and throw it inside a toaster oven, though I don’t consider that cooking. No salt. Maybe some dark soy sauce [for flavour].
- He usually stops eating 5-6 hours before going to sleep.
