So I was eating pineapple today and the roof of my mouth started tingling and hurting. So I thought why and I realised pineapple contains an enzyme called bromelain which breaks down proteins.

And it’s not just the mouth that contains proteins it’s also your skin, essentially every part of your body.

So my theory is that rubbing pineapple on your skin would make the enzymes break down the very top layer of skin- dead skin cells leading to smoother skin and less surface debris.
