From what I have seen, most surgeries can have a price decrease of about 30-60% (correct me if im wrong). And for minor surgeries (rhinoplasty) the risk would be moderately low and there is an attending surgeon in the or if something starts to look or go wrong, so to me the risks are moderately low. And again for the price deduction are likely really worth it to me, right?

depends what kind of rhino you need, if it's just a simple procedure like just shaving off a little dorsal hump them sure, but if it's more complex like correcting a crooked bridge or grafting cartilage then i wouldn't recommend cheaping out on it, a lot can go wrong and you'll most likely need to get a revision.

I have to get my deviated septum fixed, which will be covered by insurance, but i have alar retraction which reveals my septum from my side profile. I assume that is minor enough that it doesn't come with much risk?

You should be good to go tbh.

A lot of the time, the trainees actually end up doing a better job than the professionals as they are desperate to prove themselves, whereas the ones who are already established don't care as much about how good it ends up looking
