To some extent, yes — taking a much higher oral dose can potentially produce blood levels approaching lower injected doses because you compensate for the poor bioavailability.


But it’s still not exactly the same because injection changes:

• how fast it hits
• peak concentration
• absorption consistency

Oral melatonin:

• rises slower
• is partially destroyed by the liver first
• produces a smoother curve

Injected melatonin:

• hits rapidly
• creates a sharper and often much higher peak
• is more predictable mg-for-mg

So it comes close but injecting is faster and stronger
