oh, fr. i think its wide for 14 yo
Bite an apple and measure the distance between your first molars, it looks wide.
Communities like this that are hyperfocused on certain things tend to call average below average and delude themselves, just look at who r/orthotropics calls recessed, some of them think O'Pry and Barrett are recessed :feelskek:

my dentist said i have wide palate but .org saying i have narrow
which is true?
probably wide enough for no health risks etc, but even wider palate is aestetically better, but i'm pretty sure your doctor wouldn't give you one just for beauty reasons. and no, i don't think thumbpulling works with braces, the only kind of thumbpulling that could work is pushing the palate up, so basically a mewing motion but with greater preasure because of the fingers being stronger

nigga just drop the braces, if you're jaws don't grow big enough to have straight teeth by your 20's, then you can consider resuming treatment. You don't want braces interfering with your development.

doctors avoid palate expander even if your palate is narrow
And how do you know this? I don't have actual statistics but a lot of orthodontists who post on YouTube say they give palate expanders and I know a few people who have received one.

there are millions of dentists and orthodontists if 10 of them post a video of them giving a palate expander to a deformed kis that doesnt mean all of them will do the same thing

Do you have anything to back up your claim?

Fix underbite first, if didnt work then get lip lift and filler. ur palette is fine

O pry's jaw is in fact recessed, which you can see based on his lips, he did genie to mask it but lips don't lie

With barrett its the opposite, his jaw is good and lips are aligned, but chin is weak

wide palette eliminates your chance for having hollow cheeks as the distance between cheeks and ur teeth decrease and ur teeth start to push ur cheeks out

braces help with development and fix ur face if u have malocclusions

No its just that its not "narrow" its just that people here consider normal palette size narrow.

His top lip is protrusive but the possible recession is probably in the alveolar process. His e line and Frankfurt still look alright, but he is downgrown and could benefit from ccw rotation.
His lip honestly looks more incompetent than I thought.

thats not normal at all if he had a normal sized palate he wouldnt be needing braces and more teeth would show up when he smiles

do you consider 35mm IM width narrow enough to get sarpe
To me - no, would depend on his face. If he has fwhr less than 1.7 he would benefit from it

I had extremelycrooked teeth 2y ago before braces, now my teeth are straight and when I smile all of my teeth show up except for second molars cause mouth isn't as wide. If my mouth would be wider second molars would show up too.
No smile pictures before unfortunately
Jus took second pic for u

What was your case? Your bite looked kind of deep. I'm so hopeful to get braces.

showing teeth is one thing, needing braces is another. if you need braces than you have a narrow palate if your palate was wide enough from the start than it wouldnt have caused any problems

If ur concerned abt narrow smile yea u could get it, what's ur nose to lip width ratio?

Deep bite with extreme crowding
similar to overbite, but with overbite upper teeth protrude forward mine weren't.

I really hope I get braces. My teeth are straight but I have a deep bite and overjet, my orthodontist said the overjet is due to my canine being a tooth ahead of where it should be

Does Barrett have a narrow palate

no and extracting wisdom teeth doesnt matter our modern life just fucked them up for everyone
He honestly has a somewhat constricted palate, if you look towards the back of his bite

imo a wide mid face is better than cheekbones, but yea you're right

he has all his teeth except his 3rd molars and his maxilla is overly grown so i dont think he has a narrow palate

It's not uber wide tho
its not the widest palate ever but its wide enough to allot him maxilla to grow correctly and to keep all his teeth in normal shape
