Carl Rogers believed that for a person to achieve self-actualization they must be in a state of congruence. This means that self-actualization occurs when a person's “ideal self” (i.e., who they would like to be) is congruent with their actual behavior (self-image).

So basically if you aren’t lookmaxing everyday you’re Guaranteeing that you’ll be depressed. And when you’re depressed you’re not gonna want to lookmax. You have to go to sleep as a better version of yourself than when you woke up or else rope .Nothing happens over night. This is a marathon, not a sprint. With that being said, the marathon is timed. Your time is limited.

The clock is ticking.

tbh OP is distorting carl rogers' theory to fit the narcissistic world view of lookism where ones LOOKS usurp all other area of their existence.
1. the congruence of ideal self and self-image didnt, in carl roger's mind, pertain to only FACE but extended to any facet of an individual's life that was capable of reflection, development and change.
2. It is true that where there is enough conflict between ones sense of self and and their experience, incongruence occurs where, according to lookism, one might feel depressed that they havent been looksmaxxing and realized their genetic potential.
However, OP fails note Carl Roger's assertion that in-congruence pertains to the reinforcement of behaviors which are in fact perversions of the natural directions of the unitary actualizing tendency." This facilitates a discussion of individual dissatisfaction due to cultural encouragement of societal hedonism, debt slavery, mindless consumerism, undermined dopaminergic system due to technology, disintegration of the family unit and idiocracy - to name a few social issues - all of which undermine self-actualization to greater degrees than any failure to satisfy narcissistic perceptions of self-worth based on looks.
4. Self-actualization per Carl Rogers largely pertained to his theory of person-centered therapy where the therapist works with the patient to encourage therapeutic change and encourage self-actualization.

This process involves congruence and acceptance but also genuineness and in particular empathic understanding of others by the individual and by the therapist. This forum is so doused in irony and hyperbole, that it perpetually nullifies any genuine capacity for reasoned self-regard and empathy. This stymies the process of self-actualization per Carl Rogers.

Thank you but Looks are the only thing that matters. I purposely twisted what he said to fit lookmaxing.

True that OP. I find that since passing around age 25, I really started feeling the pressure of the clock. Once you realize that time passes and you're getting older, anxiety about self improving and always being on top of your life rises. If you aren't constantly stribing to look the best possibly you're legit wasting your life. Everything else is cope.
