I saw it in the tt vid he posted n to me atleast his jaws n bite look kinda wonky even the placement of the implants (mainly jaw angles) look asymmetrical n esp when it shows the under below view for like a split second

Giant implants can say what he wants about design but he doesn't work with surgeons that stand out at all

Cope, he’s not botched Giant actually placed them that way on purpose knowing they would shift after 12 weeks to become perfectly symmetrical. Giant Implants doesnt do things halfway, and I personally can’t wait to meet with the greatest designer / surgeon / inventor / engineer / artist that history has ever produced for my own case. Clearly you’re just jealous of these Chads Giant is cranking out left and right. For Giant, turning a subhuman to a Chad comes as naturally as breathing air.

hes still looking a bit botched im ngl how long does the swelling take to fully go down
a normal bimax has 60% ish of the swelling gone after 1 month, with residual swelling gone after the 1 year mark ish.

He isn't even a month in.

Symmetry looks slightly off?
Am I tripping
Nah ur right we are adjusting the left BSSO PLate/Jaw Angle Implant next week.
Immediately when I saw the scans a few days ago I told him we have to. It's pushed back 1.5mm too far which magnifies to a 3mm midline asymmetry. We will remove the 2.0 screws, adjust the placement, and replace with 2.3mm screws. It will be a quick 30-minute adjustment and everything will be back on track.

What causes this to happen?
Is it just a common issue with multiple surgeries and implants in one go, alot of stress on the bones ?

It's just something that can happen in major surgeries. Hes the only one with bite problems the rest all have a perfect bite.
I dont mind people seeing the process at all I think it just shows a realistic snapshot of the process and how issues are dealt with. Im glad to repel anyone expecting perfection every time because that doesnt exist in the surgery world.

I've always thought after seeing the combined BSSO/Jaw angle that it could make it difficult to adjust later, e.g if the jaw angle was to be moved and the BSSO plate was in an ideal position then it would mean the BSSO plate would need to be removed without need. Or if the jaw angles were replaced, same thing, the bsso gap defect cover would have to come off and replaced or discarded. Couldn't the jaw angle wrap around the bottom of the BSSO gap while the plate covers part of the upper section without both of them being one piece?

Or screwed into each other in a way where the jaw angle can be detached but on install it is one piece

I invented the Hybrid Jaw Angle-BSSO Plate in 2024.

However I am still not too attached to it yet. Medical Engineering requires slow and incremental research and development. We've already reiterated it a few times from the original version, and we've identified the vulnerable parts.

In most industries the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is barely sufficient and it's built upon later. This not how I work. Giant usually makes the MPP (Maximum Possible Product.)

In industries like medical and aerospace, the first version is usually over engineered for safety. Sometimes you slowly start to remove those things as you get comfortable and see all those features aren't practical or necessary.

But in this case, V1 was not over-engineered but just right. For example I knew this was the first in the world so you see I even had backup BSSO plates without the jaw angles.

So here is what I have found...

In my original version (first ever in the world) I put screws all the way on the posterior part of it. Because I foresaw this problem where the gonial angle is pulls away from the jaw angle plate from medial pterygoid muscles pulling (thats real life, unlike VSP plans or 3d printed models which arent under any tension)

I saw other versions (not made by me being used elsewhere) that didn't have this so I gave it a go....
Well here we are. We will fix it easily by adjustment & using bicortical lag screws to lock ramus torquing into the proper position.

Funnily enough, those other "implates" I saw which inspired me to make a simpler version of my own, ended up coming to us for revision & replacement with my design anyway:

Removed Materialise-Made Jaw Angle-BSSO Plate Hybrid
IMG 4634
IMG 4636
Replaced with Giant Implants

Im not saying that to dis the other service I think we are both on the edge of something and refining.

IMG 0663

You see about half of my cases are combined, half are separate, like in the above case (Titanium BSSO Plate, PEEK Jaw Angles)

It's important to remain open to changes and even total abandonment if things dont pan out the way you expected.
And it also depends on surgeon preference.
I think it is a good option. Its not the most useful of my inventions.

@RealSurgerymax Timothy said his wisdom teeth were not removed. Can one get bimax without extraction if all of their teeth are perfectly aligned and the wisdom teeth are perfectly erupted?

You can tell how new/larper someone is when they underestimate swelling, especially on multiple invasive surgeries.

But to answer your question, a long time, I would say about 6 months at least.
