I've had beef liver rotting in a jar for half a year now but I'm 90% sure its toxic

Do I still eat it? Would it counteract the toxicity

I literally just ate some rotten liver I've had in a jar for months right before seeing this thread But you should be fine eating it as long as insects or flies haven't reached it.
