Traditional braces bad? Or should i get Damon ?

Hey Im gonna get traditional braces in 2 weeks and ive read that they can recess your jaw and make your side Profile bad, is it True? And i also read that Damon Brackets are superior , that they still give room for forward growth ( Im 17)

Im also in the same position however im not sure if Damon is an option at my ortho but I don’t think traditional will fuck up your side as long as you get no tooth extractions
