Planning to get traditional braces soon. No extractions just fixing upper teeth spacing. Anything I should consider or think about before getting them?

Also I think I have a very mild overjet and mild overbite so they'll be using bands.

He told me it wouldn't even be necessary since my bite is optimal but it still looks horrid to me. Probably getting composite bonding after I get rid of the spacing.
