Since there isn’t a single decent tret guide out here and some of yall are actual retards, Im dropping a proper Tretinoin guide.

What even Tretinoin doing?

Tretinoin is a strong prescription retinoid (vitamin A derivative). It speeds up skin cell turnover, boosts collagen production, repairs sun damage, fades acne scars, smooths wrinkles, improves skin texture and gives you clearer, thicker, glowing skin over time.
One of the most effective tools for real skinmaxxing.

Why you should use it

It actually delivers visible long-term results, unlike most skincare cope. Clinical studies (including randomized controlled trials) show it increases collagen I formation significantly (up to 80% in some studies), reduces matrix metalloproteinases (which break down collagen), thickens the epidermis and repairs photoaged skin.

What you need

  • Tretinoin 0.025% (start here if you’re new)
  • A good thick moisturizer (nothing fancy, just non-comedogenic)
  • SPF 50+ sunscreen (this is mandatory)

How to apply it in the right way for rethards

  1. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser (tbh water also works its not that deep) and wait until skin is fully dry.
  2. Apply moisturizer and let it absorb for 2 minutes.
  3. Take a pea-sized amount of tretinoin and apply it all over your face (skip the eyes).
  4. Put another layer of moisturizer on top right after.
  5. Wait 30-45 minutes before sleeping.
Start with 2-3 times a week. Slowly build up to every night as your skin gets used to it. First weeks can be rough (dryness, flaking), so don’t rush it.

Morning: Every day put on SPF 50+, even if you stay home.

Be consistent. Real changes come after 2-3 months. If your skin gets too angry, use it less and moisturize more. Don’t mix it with strong acids early on.

Stick to this and your skin will thank you.

Rep if it helped.

Bye

No off-cycle needed.

Tretinoin is meant for longterm use. Once your skin tolerates it, run it 4-7x a week indefinitely. Dropping to 3x/week still keeps most gains. Only pause if your skin is badly irritated, then ease back in.

yuh tretinoin can fade PIH by itself over time (slow but solid results after 3-6 months with sunscreen).

Since you have hydroquinone, the combo is way faster. Use HQ on the dark spots first, wait 5-10 min, then do your normal tret routine.

I dont have bad acne, I just have a pimple issue where masses of pimples always spawn somewhere on my face, along with blue/red marks from old pimples. I want to get glowy skin, and 0.025% is definitely enough for that.

holy shit bro its effective asf for rosacea u schould start using it
I thought it worsened the Rosace due to it peeling the skin
