If you have terrible skin and you’re not on tret you’re doing yourself a disservice. This stuff was made by the gods

The only downside to using tretinoin is that you will get that gay glow. But the upside, at the same time, is that no one can tell and they will believe you got good skin naturally.

Yeah, that's the gay glow I was talking about earlier. Notorious side-effect of using it (among users, at least, those who don't wear it wouldn't know (I am an exception because I did a little bit of research re: tretinoin).

My face handled it well didn’t think I looked gay at all cause my face is pretty masc naturally. I can see it femalegazemaxxes you a lot

My skin was fine and now one month on tret and my skin is still extremely dry and flaky in areas, and requires constant moisturising. And still sometimes stings after washing or when applying moisturiser

It's not about your face looking gay or less masculine; it's just that the glow/shine your face has will be noticeable which is a giveaway of your tretinoin usage (but like I said, rest assured, only people who do know about it will know; I think women might appreciate that a man is doing skincare as they would be the only ones, I think, to recognize the gay glow).

How do you deal with the "faggot glow" and face looking like it was smeared in vaseline after tret?

Yeah it prevents skin from aging, it also makes you look like a total faggot porcelain doll. Not masculine at all.

If you have terrible skin use tretinoin.

If you have OK skin use an OTC retinoid.

My skin improved a lot since stopping tretinoin and using a weaker retinoid instead. You don’t need tret unless you really have acne problems…

I need tretinoin too, but I don’t want a gay glow. My skin quality is terrible. I got flakes all around my fake.
Gay glow mogs just take supplements for better undertones at the same tim

It doesn’t mog at all, you’re coping tbh. If it was not a side effect you wouldn’t have said it.

it barely gives you a ‘gay glow’ ime, just better texture and slightly more vibrant. People exaggerate unless they are using a fuck ton daily.

I didn’t get the glow tbh while using tret. My skin glows but it’s not like glas. I use .025 every other day and layer with moisturizer

Yeah I remember reading studies showing it has very good effectiveness on ageing, I'm young so I really should get ahead of the curb with prevention and using trentinoin.

"Long-term studies of tretinoin tend to show the most dramatic results, with people experiencing significant reductions in the appearance of fine wrinkling, coarse wrinkling, skin laxity and other signs of photoaging.

In a 1989 study of people with photodamaged facial skin, half of the participants were given a cream containing tretinoin 0.05 percent for daily use, while the other half of the study participants were given a non-therapeutic vehicle.

After six months, participants given tretinoin showed significant improvements in fine wrinkling, coarse wrinkling, sallowness, looseness and hyperpigmentation. These patients also reported a self-perceived improvement in an appraisal questionnaire.

A 1991 study of long-term tretinoin treatment showed similar results. Participants given tretinoin 0.05 percent cream for 24 weeks showed an “overall improvement in photodamaged skin,” including a reduction in fine wrinkling, mottled hyperpigmentation, roughness and laxity.

Interestingly, study participants given a cream with a lower amount of tretinoin (0.01 percent tretinoin, as opposed to 0.05 percent in the other group) didn’t experience the same anti-aging benefits as the participants given tretinoin 0.05 percent cream.

Another study from 1991 produced similar findings. Participants given a 0.05 percent tretinoin cream saw an increase in epidermal thickness (skin thickness), as well as a reduction in skin melanin content and compaction of the outer layer of the skin after 24 weeks of tretinoin cream use.

The study concluded that the changes in tretinoin-treated skin “establish the biologic activity of the new emollient cream formulation” (tretinoin cream) and “may partially account for the clinical improvements in photodamage observed in the same group of subjects.”

In simple terms, tretinoin not only produces an improvement in skin quality and a reduction in wrinkles in short-term studies -- it’s also highly effective at reducing wrinkles, discoloration and other signs of aging when used over the long term."

You will get it sooner or later. But yes you should have a whole routine going on. Not just tretinoin.

I used retin-A 0.05% and got redness, peeling, and bumpy skin even after 6 months, and moisturising the fuck out of it.

Now I’m using the ordinary granactive retinoid and no more peeling and smoother skin.

I don’t know how much those glowies use but I just about see it in every person using it. I guess long-term usage will give the glow (so after a few weeks of using it).

Tret is supposed to be for wrinkles and acne, I think you should be hydrating and using moisturizer suited for your skin type for dry skin.

Can I use tret if I have some acne? Will it get rid of it as well without coping with azelaic or salicylic acid ointments?

Tretinoin was made for people with acne. It’s intended for people like you. So go ahead. Beware of the glow!
