Anyway back to NHS, consultation, they say I am an emergency case, music to my fucking ears. Yes. Yes. Fucking lefort me bitch. “You can expect to have all orthodontics and surgery’s completed in 7 years”. 7 years, 7 FUCKING YEARS. I would be 28 years old are you fucking serious. My teeth aren’t even bad, the private surgeons say 6 - 9 month orthodontics before surgery for decompression. What the actual fuck, the NHS are fucking jesters. What the fuck would it be if it wasn’t emergency would I mabey have it done before I’m in the grave or would that be a done afterwards. I have a consultation booked with Ramieri in June, I am fucking praying he just tells me what I want to hear. If not I am genuinely cooked as fuck.

Holy fuck their system is so shit, just be glad your in england im assuming and not wales. I cant pick where i get referred to even if i want, and my dad lost his eye in the hospital most people here get referred to, so im just fucked if i dont go privately. Ive had multiple eye issues, including a condition called lagophthalmos WHERE MY EYES LITERALLY CANT CLOSE CORRECTLY. And my GP booked me into a 9 month referral even though my eyes were burning and red with discharge, there was damage on the surface aswell. If i waited 9 months for a routine referral id have probably gotten a corneal ulcer and risked getting blind, thankfully im not a retard so i went to the A&E after 2 days in england instead (2 hour drive) and then they seen me and said "Your appointment should be getting expedited to 3 months" dear heavens thank fuck theres a consultant with a brain. So now im out here waiting in pain, applying 6 eye drops and gelling my eyes shut every night whilst waiting for my next appointment because my lower lid sags so much that it literally makes my eyes not be able to close. Im also bookking a private consultation, which is still a 4-7 month wait (ik this is normal for cosmetic, but ngl it should be faster for urgent needs). Like fucking hell, this has to be a joke. Atleast its better than the NHS normal wait times.

The price as well, might aswell just lose my eyes tbh. I got quoted £7050-£12050 for a full surgery of Canthoplasty, Lower Eyelid retraction and a Mucograft (i have no fucking clue what a mucograft is but ill ask if it adds volume for my under eyes since thats what i need). Like imagine having literal sight threatening condition and immense pain (also including bulging eyes, but that was later disproved by the england hospital as my hertel measurement was 18mm, which is normal), verified by 2 opticians before going to my gp and they book me a routine appointment for 9 months.

Its insane that we have to book private consultations when we are paying a fuck ton of money a year on taxes for this shit, like idgaf atp like dude if i have a serious condition thats causing me immense pain where i cant look at an object for 3 seconds, i should get my shit in max 2 months lmao.

I hope everything goes well for you man, this system is a fucking shithole and it needs to be fixed. Atp im purchasing health insurance in the future because i cant trust this shit anymore.

Yea life fucking sucks right now but im sure it will all work out. Good luck with your shit, pretty sure my dad will pay for the surgery if i cant get it within the NHS, its crazy since ive never gone there for anything and the one time when i actually need it, the gp sets up my appointment wrong and i waste 2-3 weeks which likely means i couldve been seen alot sooner if it was set as urgent since it was and confirmed by a major hospital.

But 7 years is fucking diabolical, what the fuck lol. Such a joke of a system, theres no way theres that many people on the waiting list waiting for DJS likely.

The main problem with the NHS is that it’s a public service relying mostly on private inputs which rinse the fuck out of it. They can’t cut costs on suppliers or consultants so they try to penny pinch by hiring Indian doctors or trying to lower people’s prescriptions purely to save on medicines that would cost 50p on Indiamart.
