High malar fat pad mass contributes to nasolabial folds and an un-lean facial appearance.

Excessive malar fat pad thickness can be due to high body fat percentage, dogshit fat distribution genetics, and age-related saggage.
Example:

1738206332919

Malar fat pads that protrude ahead of the back of the nose look unaesthetic and fat/bloated.
Example:

1738208103705

Maxillary recession can exacerbate or create the appearance of excess malar fat pad protrusion, which deepens nasolabial folds and makes the surrounding area look bloated/fat.
Examples:

1738207822420
1738207541971

Male models almost universally have thin malar fat pads, forming a backwards-slanting zygo in 3/4 view. Combined with forward-slanting noses, the halos of both leanness and forward growth are optimized.

Contrasted with the unaesthetic look of excess malar fat pad mass and/or insufficient support of it:

Here I’ve edited photos of people with the malar fat pad problem to make them leaner in this area.

malar fat pad descends as you age, and the less bone you have, the uglier it'll look on your face

alternatively, if you have no malar fat due to lipodystrophy, it also looks weird as hell:

I think I have this

Malar fat pad looks good from the front, "bloated from the side". Excessive fat also looks bad because it creates the nasolabial line even if you have good maxilla. I think under eye fat is way more important. I have decent support in the zygo area but no support under my eyes.

Why is that better? I have that same line where it goes from the undereye to gonion from the side and I think it looks bad, sunken. Only pro to it is no nasolabial folds but it makes the zygos look weak asf.

How some people have good mouth areas while others extend that nasolabial fold to the jaw

deep canine fossa = inward malar area = thick malar fat pad not so bad

shallow canine fossa = flat malar area = need thin malar fat pad to not look un-lean

This is an old thread but how do you get rid of the excessive fat if it’s caused by maxillary recession .

Would a higher level osteotemy eradicate it in your opinion?

I’ve seen Aqualyx isn’t too effective here, and Ultrasonic Cavitation might not be effective here either. Potentially liposuction??

i think facelift can help in combination of infra implants

Basically in simple terms, pull my soft tissue up and to be able to stabilizie and have support you will have the infraorbital implant which will do the work of making sure you dont sag again

you will need periosteal facelift(which means deep layer)

And of course dont eat carbs becaus you will retain water in those pads and it will exagerate that area.

why wouldnt aqualyx work? itd remove excess malar fat thus reducing/removing the appearance of the nasolabial fold

for me the fold is only visible in downlighting, forward lighting its nonexistent. whenever i press on my malar fat in downlighting my fold disappears, i feel in my case im a good candidate for aqualyx
