From what I've seen they don't really care that much, it's just one of those random traits that they add to their list of things they like about men to make it seem that they're not only into looks or other shallow things. It's mostly just women in their 30's that want to sit on their ass while their husband does all the work that actually like such men. But the women in southern France might be different, idk.
