Underwhelming jaw from braces

I had braces for some time and I had bite blocks that made it so painful to bite on my right side, and my jaw is fairly underdeveloped on that side. Could that be correlated? I’m starting to believe my jaw is just gone from all the biting that I avoided cuz of the pain

I don’t have any hard chewing gum just normal gum tho and the sugar is absolutely insane if I stack it
