A few months ago I got fired from my first job out of uni. I'm now going to be moving back to my home town. My parents thankfully assisted me, although I was silly the first month and ended up just living in the car on the few savings(1.3k). It ended up being costly eating out, and repeatedly turning your car off and on again especially older models users a ton of gas, at the time it was 5$ a gallon, so I was spending like a full tank ( 17 gallons my car ), every 4 days. It was ridiculous. I thought their was a leak but once I went. back to driving back normally, it was not an issue.
I in total lived like a homeless man for 3 weeks. I chilled in a cofee shop for most of the day that was open from 6am-2am. They never once called me out, and were very friendly and nice to me. They thanked me for my business. I rarely took naps. I applied in that Time period about 150 jobs on indeed, got a few interviews that did not amounted to much.
It turns out if you say you got fired your last job, you can't get shit.So after that first month of spam applying, I talked with my parents and they gave me money and I lived in several different place for a month or so each in airbnb. It sucked going from a studio to living with like a family , or 4-6 other random people. Airbnb also is expensive, about 1000-1200$ a month to month rental. While you benefit from no deposit or long term lease, I still feel its expensive.
Now 4 months and 450 applications later/20-25 interviews and zero job offers,I am moving back to my hometown. My parents were hesitant initially, as I was very argumentative and we had lot of arguments, disagreements. But they visited me here and we got along well and they agreed I can chill their. They just want me to do chores, come back home by 11pm , and not talk to former friends ( as they did marijuana and drank a lot, and not ambitious ). The good news is I already cut off those pussies. I wouldn't cut off someone if I was simply told to , but did so as I genuinely hate how fake and full of shit they are. They also would try to start shit with me for no reason other then likely retarded attention seeking behavior.
In the end I would advise against university. You can get similar corporate jobs by spending 2-3 years doing work in the field. Lets say you want to be a financial analyst. Your best bet is to start in sales, or work in a bank branch as a teller.
For the sales route, you can work in a store as a representative in a certain section, like electronics and that would be a representative but also a sales position as your conversations lead to them buying. A direct sales position is better though, like a solar sales representative , or a car salesman ( sometimes can be hard to get though for first time seekers), or another easy one a mobile phone store sales rep.
Then register for the relevant securities industry exams that don't require sponsorship. Pass the ones. In the USA its called the SIE exam ( securities industry essential exam), then the series 63 exam. Then apply and request sponsorship for a firm.It doesn't matter where you work as you can job hop later. Just get sponsorship, then become a associate financial representative. You make 45-60k a year depending on location. Then after a year, quit.
The bank teller route, you do the relevant exams also, and indicate interest in being a financial advisor ,or financial representative. Take your exams and then either quit if they dont sponsor you, or if you get sponsored then take the 7.
The reason I say this is , its not worth doing university as you can get the same job in a few years while actively saving and being able to invest, and live rent free , then go to university.
