UPDATED Nose Size Reduction via Softmaxing Guide

By no means is this medical advice. Even though the risks are relatively low, everyone is different and some people may respond to this differently than others (although as I said, the majority should be fine).

"Wait, have you had a nose job?",
two girls that I met at a casino asked me as I got talking to them.
I was very pleasantly surprised to hear that because, although I knew that this method works, I did not realize, until then, just how much my nose has ascended thanks to it.

Hence,

I present to you, by far, one of the most underrated looksmaxes on this forum.

The reason why I'm making an updated version is not only due to what I've said above, but also because I have learned a lot more on this topic since I've made the original thread.

Hydrocortisone Info:

I have already talked about this in the first thread, but I will repeat it anyways in a concise way:

Hydrocortisone (HC) is a topical corticosteroid (again, no, not the "scary" anabolic/androgenic steroid for any giga high inhibcels) used to treat inflammation, redness, swelling, etc.

One of its side effects is thinning of skin, which is exactly why it is so effective when it comes to shrinking your nose.

Potential Side Effects of 1% Hydrocortisone (uncommon, mild):

- Skin atrophy (1)
- Rosacea-like eruptions (1)

If you experience any of these, take a break or hop off for good.

Proper Usage of Hydrocortisone:

Apply two pea-sized drops of 1% hydrocortisone cream onto your nose and spread evenly around the cartilage, including the bottom of the nose. I recommend you do not go above the tip of the nose and onto the nose bridge, as we do not want skin thinning there, as it can make the dorsa more prominent. Rub the cream in thoroughly, after which, remove any excess HC from around the nose, but do keep a layer of it on the desired area for about five minutes, then take that off as well. After a few minutes, if not straight away, water may start leeching out of the top of your nose, which is technically a good thing, so just keep wiping it off, that should persist to up to 15 minutes. The effects of hydrocortisone should last for up to an entire day.

Hydrocortisone Regimen:

Get your body used to it. First, apply the cream for two weeks straight, once a day, no matter what. Results most likely won't be very significant from the very first time you apply it.
After that is done, only apply it when you need your nose to shrink, such as when you're going out.

Hydrocortisone's Effects on Your HPA Axis:

If you want to know exactly what you HPA axis is, go look it up. In short terms, it is a system of glands that regulates your stress response and involves the following organs:

Some people have asked me things along the lines of "but xnj, what about you HPA axis, won't that get fucked with while you're on it?".

So here is the answer to this question:

Hydrocortisone raises cortisol. However, one may think that it does not do it to an extent, especially in such low, almost negligible dosages, where it has some sort of effect on the rest of your body, right? Wrong. After prolonged use, your body will feel the slight change and will adapt to it, potentially causing you a bit of trouble.

Preserving Your HPA Axis:
Since HC raises your cortisol, we need something that lowers it. Here is where Ashwagandha comes into play. You know how people claim it has "testosterone-boosting" effects? Well that is the case because it lowers your cortisol (which is what can stagnate test production, hence the claims).

Take 500-800mg (depending on your brand's dosage per pill)
right before you apply the cream. You can keep doing that for about 8 weeks, after which I suggest you take a 4-week break from ashwagandha, whilst also slightly lowering your HC usage. After that, you can resume just as usual.

Since I've mentioned it in my first thread, I will not be giving any in-depth advice on retinoids in this thread, as all you need to do to make your nose shrink from them, is follow their usual regimens. All I'm going to say is that it does shrink the nose in most cases, however not all skin complexions/conditions are predisposed to said shrinkage. But whether to use it or not - is up to you. Take a dermatologist's advice, or at the very least, find reputable threads here if you do want to use it (I'm on about general usage btw, not exclusively for the nose).

I obtained betamethasone dipropate and it works way better…still getting rhino though. The effects are good but not crazy

My pharmacist advised me today that when hydrocortisone is applied topically, the risk of clinically significant skin thinning is minimal in areas with thicker skin, such as the upper arm. Moreover, the development of skin thinning from topical hydrocortisone generally requires extended continuous use (on the order of multiple months) rather than brief use over two weeks. My pharmacist further indicated that when hydrocortisone is applied to the nasal region, the likelier consequence is soft tissue drooping rather than erosion of septal cartilage. Finally, because topical hydrocortisone undergoes local absorption and has far less systemic bioavailability compared to the oral formulation, the use of a “cortisone‐reducer” (ia systemic agent intended to antagonize systemic corticosteroid excess) is unnecessary in the context of topical administration. Excessive intranasal corticosteroid use can cause nasal septum perforation, mucosal atrophy, dryness, and nosebleeds, and in prolonged cases, may lead to HPA axis suppression or Cushingoid features. Attached is a paper supporting my claims

By no means is this medical advice. Even though the risks are relatively low, everyone is different and some people may respond to this differently than others (although as I said, the majority should be fine).

"Wait, have you had a nose job?",

I was very pleasantly surprised to hear that because, although I knew that this method works, I did not realize, until then, just how much my nose has ascended thanks to it.

Wouldn't retinoids make the nose bigger, since higher/more collagen would make skin thicker? or at least it would undo the corticosteroid

nuclear, it is considered Super-potent Ultra-high

Combine it with tret or taz as well. Or maybe a more potent version of hydrocortisone like bethamose if you have very thick cartilage and skin on your nose, otherwise just use hydro

What if I were to lower the amount and usage for a way longer time like several weeks? Earlier wipe-off included

No it wouldnt make the skin thicker just because it increases collagen, if anything it would make it look more refined
