Using elastics to pull lower jaw forward with braces

I have a deep bite and over jet, my ortho keeps not adjusting shit and just took off my bite blockers so when i jut my teeth no longer can make contact, thats beside the point the my question is, if wearing the elastics connecting from my bottom molars to my top canines will asist in bringing the overjet back and bringing my mandible forwards. Im 15 yrs old, the left side of my mandible is longer and more narrow then the right, however my ramus is longer by far compared to the left.
What should i do
