Verified Russian deaths in Ukraine war now exceed 100k

They do have an incentive in halting USA support to Ukraine though. Why would you not win quickly if you can ? And it is clear that USA and European support is really the only thing prolonging this skit. They cant do things right now in Europe but they have temporarily made USA reconsider its support to Ukraine. As for the ground I agree. Russian army has an outsized advantage because of sheer numbers and not having to import arms. They can also sustain their economy temporarily by sellijg gas and fertiliser to Non Anglosphere nations who dont care about the war
I think Putin wants to end the war but the Russians simply don't trust the Americans to uphold any deal that's signed.

They should have at least tried to settle up their defences after Crimea was invaded in 2014. Like how couldnt they anticipate further agression ?
So much for a so called "military superpower"
Even if they win the war, it's pathetic.

There is a reason america wants the war to end now.... and it's not beacuse trump is le based it's beacuse they k ow if they don't get peace now there will be no more young men to kill
america wants peace because either trump is a russian agent (literally old kgb spies confirmed this) or because he wants the fame and glory he gets if he ends the war

Ukraine's continued independence was always going to be based on a delicate balancing act between good Western and Russian relations.

We were never going to fight a direct confrontation with Russia to preserve Ukrainian independence.

For this reason, Ukraine post 2014 should have pursued a policy of conciliation with Russia and the West.

Ukraine should have been a designated neutral countries with mutual trade deals with both Russia and Europe.

The funny thing is that Trump pretended to trust Putin but got angry when he didnt agree to the ceasefore deal. It is baffling how Conservatives who were always anti Russia almost feverishly along with Democrats now dont care about blatant land grabs
Had this happened during the Cold War we would have had Cuban Missile crisis part 2. Russians really played the long game

Unfortunately, there were a lot of corrupt politicians in Ukraine who didnt give a rat's ass about anything other than filling their pockets. At least Zelensky has the balls to remain in his country and act as a leader. The President of Afghanistan ran away like a bitch the same year when the Taliban started their march to Kabul

The ceasefire was a dumb idea. Putin has zero reason to temporarily stop fighting when he's winning the war.
Putin has manoeuvred it well though, getting the US to agree to this non sensical energy ceasefire while they continue to make gains on the battlefield.

This is a controversial opinion but I think the Ukraine disaster is Russia's equivalent of the Cuban Missile crisis

I'm not saying it's fair.
Ukraine is next to a shitty neigbor but they are far more powerful and the West was never going to intercede on Ukraine's behalf.
It was of existential importance to Ukraine to have good relations with Russia.

Yeah, I begrudgingly respect the long game. When Putin came in as President two decades ago nobody really thought that he would attempt an invasion as blatantly as he did.

Life is cheap in Russia

Outside of the urban areas, theres nothing much to live for

You dont get proper education and your local representatives either sell out to the Kremlin or straight up dont give a shit about you

You either get forced to the front lines or go there out of your own “free will” from all the propaganda youve been fed

Wouldnt be surprised if that number is higher

It is way higher on both sides. I unfortunately could not find a reliable source for Ukraine becuase the number was outlandish like only 43,000. I mean obviously its complete crap and both sides are waay underestimating their death tolls.

My understanding with Russia is that it's not Orwellian authoritarianism that demands unwavering support of the state like China.
Russians have told me that as long as you don't politically organize against Putin, you can have your own opinions and it's okay.

They subsidise industry because they understand the power they have in manufacturing and industry. But that comes at the cost of no dissent at all. If you dont like the policies then you keep your trap shut. And surprisingly, its worked for them uptil now. The skewed demographics will bite them but not in the near future.

It’s a great paradox for China.

State capitalism has ensured China’s meteoric rise but its very success threatens the CCP existentially.

They are worse socially absolutely. But neither the population cares nor the government has any incentive to change. By the end of the century they will face big trouble because all the nonsensical decisions will only pile up due 0 opposition and it will unravel the country. But for now I dont think there is any danger. It will be a slow decline not overnight, maybe it can happen noticeably by mid century too

I’ve spoken to a lot of Russians.
The youngsters, especially born post USSR don’t like Putin at all.

However, older people who remember the instability of the 90s support Putin or at the very least see him as a form of continuity and stability.

Essentially, they don’t know what would replace him and would rather stick with the devil they know.

I see literal subhuman pajeets ascending with Ukrainian foids.
Do you recall what happened after the Germans lost in world war 1? The French occupied the Rhineland and they wanted to humiliate the Germans. So they got their colonial soldiers from west and central Africa stationed in Rhineland.

Guess what happened? The negro African soldiers of the French army raped multiple white German women in the Rhineland. Hitler wrote about this In ‘mein kampf’ And referred to “bastards in the rhine” who needed to be sterilised.

Again, mark my words, when the war ends there will be hordes of curries niggers and gooks in Ukraine looking to race mix with white Slavic foids who are destitute
