The only thing that held is some-what in check was the threat of children dying or living in poverty, modern society has made it alot safer. With this i agree dating apps use to have alot more people matching with each-other, then these companies got smart and added a elo score, in hopes of getting more money then added boost and gold/priemum editions, at the same time limiting normal users, from blocking who looked at your profile to blurring the pictures, to limiting how many likes and messages you could send a day.

basically women ages 18-24 are saying why get with a of similar looks level when i can get a sexier man, the avg guy who is 18-24 is broke so they have no way to compensate to compete with the smaller pool of desired men who their female peers have sexual access to for casual sex and flings.
