I stopped finding fun in them and never really tried a game that interested me. The only games that did keep my interest were mobile ones. Maybe because I started trying pc games after having my brain fried by dopamine and mental illness.

People desperately seek out an escape from this type of life, because it is voluntary discomfort. Keeping all this in mind, how can you possibly say that real engagement comes from work, or that humans are meant to be engaging in work? If you think "real engagement" comes from performing work you don't want to do, then clearly you have genuinely never been interested in something in your life.

As for the "you cannot live without working" argument, it is completely irrelevant to this thread. Working and having fun in the same day are not mutually exclusive. You can have a balance of both.
