Is vit c a warranted purchase for a skincare routine with retin a or is the gains too marginal to to justify the cost

Never use them together but yes they're both good in a routine

Morning apply Vitamin C serum with your regular moisturizer and cleanser (with SPF) and then at night no VC serum but do the same as before but instead of VC, apply Retin. VC is good for fixing any acne "scarring" and make the skin healthier, Retin is good for overall skin glow and it's a precursor for collagen so it'll help prolong your skin's prime substantially. HL Acid is the natural moisture your skin produces which should be in both your cleanser and moisturizer.

It's like adding a cherry to a cake.

It's a nice addition, all things considered.

Either or. And for Cleanser definitely Cerave. It's been amazing. Moisturizer is the same but Cetaphil works too.

im a little confused, i thought with the use of retin A; sunscreen is compulsory, are you saying you dont need to if you use a cleanser?

Sorry, was rushing for the exam. Here's the routine.

Morning = Apply cleanser, wash it off, apply Vitamin C serum, wait 10-20 seconds for it to start absorbing, apply a bit of SPF (so basically sunscreen) and then apply your moisturizer.

Night = Same cleanser, wash it off, apply Retin-A (because Retinol and Vitamin C are not meant to mix together), let it absorb for again like 15-20 seconds and then moisturize.

My bad if the words sounded weirded. You definitely do need sunscreen with Retin-A regardless, I think it just makes more sense to use the Retin-A at night time so you don't need to use SPF at the same time as Retin-A at night since you won't be in the sun when it gets dark.

I have more olive skin (I get North Atlantid white in the winter) and Vitamin C is literally making me whiter but so smooth looking lol

I do morning vitamin c / sunscreen, then at night retin-a and moisturizer with EGF.

Retin-a is king and I guarantee every celebrity over 25 is using it.

the vitamin c visibly works immediately, I had people comment on how good my skin looked after applying it. It gives your skin a healthy glow and is also suppose to prevent aging, and there are clinical trials that back that up

skinceuticals sells the best version but it is over 100 dollars a bottle. Here is a good alternative

Amazon product ASIN B01M4MCUAF
the important part is that you don’t let it expire. Vitamin c oxidizes quickly and loses its effectiveness. I buy one of those bottles and keep it in the fridge. I then have a smaller bottle that I refill and keep in the bathroom for daily use. This will let you keep one of those bottles for months and it will continue to be effective.

U apply cleanser in the morning, wash it off immediately then apply vit c serum? How long do u let the cleanser sit on ur face before u wash it off? And what kind of SPF do u recommend which one do u use?
