I've always managed to find good gigs. Last one I had was grueling. 12 hour shifts but I only worked 3 days a week. I had Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off so it was well worth it. Especially because I was able to support a family with that gig and set up for over 3 years. My wife don't work and we have a 4 year old. You could have been doing that job too. I was a cook at Panda Express. Renting a 2 bedroom apartment with a nice balcony. Lot's of time to spend with my wife and kid.

Now I got a much better paying job but the schedule isn't as good. I work 5 eight hours shifts from 11pm to 7am at a non profit. Got monday and Tuesday Nights off but I can work up to 90 hours a week or more, every week, if I want. So I'll be doing this one for the next six months. Then I'll quit, take a little vacation to Texas, then come back and Door Dash for a few weeks before becoming NEET. That will last for the next 3 to 7 months before finally working as a teacher again.

You gotta switch it up and move around often. I've been on my own for 16 years and have never had government assistance but I've managed to keep from being a miserable slave.
